Three reaction wheels, individually balanced to perfection. When it comes to wheels, size matters. These wheels were carefully selected for maximum slew rates, the total momentum the wheels can store and to minimize vibrations and torque ripple when imaging.
Two high resolution fine sun sensors for attitude sensing. Individually calibrated to ensure robust performance even in non-ideal situations. This system is able to measure attitude in the sunlit part of the orbit to an accuracy of <0.15[Symbol] (3[Symbol]).
The primary sensor and actuator interface board with a 3-axis MEMS gyro to measure angular velocity, accurately. Using two specially treated ferrite core torquers with ultra-low remanence and high linearity and one air core coil for actuating and dumping momentum. Together with the CubeWheels pointing accuracy of <0.4[Symbol] (3[Symbol]) at a stability rate of 0.004[Symbol]/sec is achievable.
